7 Drawbacks To Online Dating?
This Huffington Post article talks about the 7 Drawbacks to Online Dating, which include the feeling of endless options, non committal parties, trolls, shaky compatibility algorithms, et al. They missed the most obvious online dating problem, meeting in real life and having no spark (chemistry, real attraction, connection, et al).

They do mention "sexual compatibility," which could probably encompass those things you mention. I agree with most of this, especially #4. And about the myriad options, I even find myself wondering what else is out there when I should be perfectly happy with what I have right in front of me. It's really confusing, because I'm constantly second-guessing myself: Am I not interested or am I a victim of the "buffet" mentality?
ReplyDeleteI guess I could have a spark with someone and have no sexual compatibility? It's great that you see a lot of options, I see options I don't want, LOL. If you were very very into someone, maybe every other potential would fade away?
DeleteUgh, this is so true! It's the absolute worst to have great chemistry over an app and/or texting, then when you meet in person, it's just a total drag. That's happened about one too many times for my liking.
