Dinner Date Recap

Date last night went fine.  He knew how to hold a conversation without using job interview like questions.  He looked like he's in his 20s, which is eye opening because he's in his mid 40s. There was no chemistry.  If he asks me out again, I'll go to give it another shot.  My assessment probably won't change.  Usually you know if there is chemistry within the first five minutes?  Right?

  1. I didn't feel chemistry with my boyfriend until our second date. But that is how it usually works for me, it takes me more than one interaction to warm up. I have felt instant chemistry a few times, but that was when I was on the prowl for a hook up and not looking for my future husband.

    1. I thought I was able to feel chemistry later on, thinking back, that's the case for me anymore

  3. For me it depends. I tend to not feel it instantly when I'm interested on more of a superficial level, like Anonymous said. But I have a lot of emotional baggage at this point that's preventing me from feeling instant chemistry before I know someone.

Give it a second date to see if something develops. It's difficult to assess anything from a first date.

    1. * I tend TO feel it instantly when it's more on a superficial level. Hello, coffee, start working!

  4. Agreed with the first Anonymous, I can feel chemistry instantly if I know I'm just looking for an immediate hookup. For an actual relationship, it takes me two or three dates because I'm assessing the guy for lots of qualities.

I've rarely had a guy say at the end of date one that he wants to hang out again and actually follow up. Usually the "let's do this again!" is a nervous reflex you don't mean. The ones who text the next day(s) and ask me out are the ones that seem more genuine.
