What?

What?  I agreed to meet New Leaf Guy for a quick drink tonight.  He was going to pick me up at 6:30 pm.  He never picked me up (even though he confirmed last night).  He texts when he's running late and calls if he has to stay at work longer than he had intended.  He's never flaked on a date before.  This is strange.  I surprised myself because I wasn't even angry.  He's let me down so many times that my expectations are nonexistent, it's like I've become immune to his bull sh*t, wonderful!

I'm a little concerned (not concerned enough to call him).  I don't know if something happened, but I do know that I equate flakiness with treating me like sh*t.  No one needs that in their lives.

  1. That's really strange. Any word yet? Guess you have your answer on this one now!

  2. He didn't show up and you didn't even call to see if he's all right? WOW. He was probably testing you and you failed. Or, he's been in a traffic accident and you didn't even show a iota of concern for him.

    1. It did cross my mind that he may have been testing me. I go back to if a guy was very interested, would he test me this way or flake on a date he begged for?

  3. Yah, the polite thing would be to text him and make sure he's on his way. Yes he should have let you know if he couldn't make it any more, but if you texted him at least then you'd have an answer. You could take off your make-up and get into PJs. Dating is a two-way street.

He is probably responding to your overall indifference about him, and realized this was a lost cause.

    1. Is that the polite thing? Let's pretend I was meeting someone I had never met before and he didn't show. I wouldn't text him to make sure he was on is way, I'd assume he flaked and to block his number. This way of thinking doesn't apply in this scenario?

LOL, take off makeup and get into PJs is an activity I greatly enjoy.

Perhaps he was responding to my overall indifference, but is flaking a good way to try to get back into my good graces? He's the one who begged to see me
