Texas?
How are the guys in Texas? Anyone know? More Austin and Dallas than Houston. Ready for a change...
I think men are men everywhere but that said, more of my friends in Chicago, Wisconsin, Atlanta, and Texas are finding love online. SF is full of 35 year-old Peter Pans who work for startups that cater to their every need - food, laundry service, shuttles. So these boys don't know how to take care of themselves.
Well this is disheartening. Not all of us are geeks, douche bags, or "Peter Pans". But I can certainly see why you would think that. Online dating doesn't really bring out the best in us either, not matter your gender. I can't remember the last girl I dated from OKC that didn't have a checklist of demands.
I really think SF is terrible for dating. I know some ladies who have moved out of SF, found the right guy, and got married in about a year. Yeah, I do hear guys complaining about the girls out here too. We are all smart people with some desirable attributes, so in theory, dating should be good here...
Nope, haven't spoken to an Adam. SF is really small sometimes though. An open relationship wouldn't technically be cheating, but I certainly wouldn't want to date someone who is in that situation. I'm not sharing my man :)
Adventuresaurus girl, you seem to date a lot. What are your thoughts on who pays for the dates? It seems to be strange in SF. I think the guys expect the girls to pay their share or pay?
Just hope they don't get you pregnant.
ReplyDeleteLOL
DeleteI would highly recommend it considering the men in SF are a bunch of geeks and douchebags.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago, a friend told me to move out of SF or face a life of spinsterhood. I should've listened to him.

DeleteThat's good to know, thanks for sharing. Ummm, why are both of us still in SF? Let's start packing!

DeleteAdd cheaters to the list.
DeleteWatch out for SF lawyers in their early 30's on OKC.
I found out one guy has had a gf for close to a year, yet he's still on there daily. Ugh.
Yikes, maybe I've gone out with this lawyer without knowing he has a gf! It's a small world...
DeleteMaybe it's too many choices. There is such a thing as paralysis by analysis.
DeleteOh, I totally agree!!
DeleteYou should read the Paradox of Choice by Barry Schwartz :)
DeleteThis lawyer/cheater guy on OkC - horrible! You should publish his username.
Funny, I've read it twice!
DeleteThe cheater screen name would be very interesting
I did some thinking. I would post his username, but I don't know the specifics of his arrangement with her yet.
DeleteIf they're in an open relationship, then technically he's not really cheating, right?
I can tell you ladies this: his name is Adam. Any of you possibly dated or talked to him?
I also discovered his gf knows 3 other people that I know (2 dating contacts, 1 acquaintance). Definitely a small world!
Nope, haven't spoken to an Adam. How about you, Sabrina?
DeleteHmm, true, if he is in an open relationship, it wouldn't be cheating. Oh my, SF is really that small...

DeleteI just don't understand the men in SF. Perhaps I can expand it to the Bay Area as well. The best place to go is the midwest.
ReplyDeleteOh no, this guy issue in SF applies to the entire Bay Area? I was hoping it would be better in the South Bay/Silicon Valley
DeleteMidwestern boys rule!
DeleteIt's legions better than NYC
ReplyDeleteHi, how many years did you spend in Dallas and NY? I do find Dallas to be quite interesting
DeleteWhat is the best neighborhood to meet decent men in their 30s?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to assume this question isn't for me due to the "decent" part. Anyone have suggestions for SF, Dallas, or NY?

ReplyDeleteIt could be $5 or $500, guy always pays. I believe in "courting" and guys trying to impress ladies by showing they can be providers.
