Funny

Funny article on online dating.  I'm at the point where I just don't understand how I know real life couples who have met online.  My experience summed up in two words - sh*t show.  Most of my girfriends in the Bay Area agree.  Come to think of it, I only know four SF couples who met online (two met on Craigslist which is fascinating in itself).  All my other friends who met their spouses online live everywhere, but here.

  1. This makes me want to create a fake profile and test some things out.

I've also started asking friends at work to hook me up with their friends. I've avoided it before because I found it a bit embarrassing. But everyone I've asked so far was really positive about it. I had group date last weekend and it went well. I wasn't that into the girl, but maybe if we hang out more she'll grow on me. This is a luxury that you don't get online.

  2. In terms of successful online relationships, I can think of 1 married couple, 4 engaged couples, 1 couple who has been together for 2 yrs, and one couple that just became official after meeting on Tinder... just in the Bay Area.

Online dating may be a shit show for us but if it wasn't successful for at least some portion of people (and success is defined however you want) or if it were seriously balanced towards one population, these sites wouldn't last long.

    2. The Tinder couple's story is CRAZY and I'm going to blog about it soon, but it's like a movie.

  3. 2. Don't talk about karaoke. This is just a good general life rule.

/\ I happen to LOVE karaoke. What's wrong with that?!?!??! :-\

I know of only one couple who met online (by accident I might add) who just had their first child. They met on MySpace of all places!
