Another Date
Much Older Guy asked me out for next Saturday just now. This is how it should work...none of that spur of the moment sh*t. He seems nice and I'll go, but I'm not really feeling it.
You're going because he asked you out in advance even though you're not feeling it? Maybe you need to give men a break. It would be nice if they asked us out in advance but it doesn't always occur to them. Does not make them bad people or completely undateable. I think you're closing yourself off with all these silly little rules.
I think this falls under the damned if I do, damned if I don't category. If I had just written him off, I'm sure someone would say, I'm not giving him a chance, maybe I need to be more open, blah blah.
I never said last minute guys were bad or undateable, they just aren't right for me. I don't know about you, but I like to not be waiting for my phone to ring because some guy wants to ask me out at the last minute. I also have things to do and cannot accommodate this garbage and blatant disrespect for my time. Think about it this way, how would you feel about a guy who only asks you out two hours in advance? I suspect, it would get pretty annoying pretty fast when you grapple with staying late at work, cancelling drinks with the girls, etc
I think there's a fine line, if he's always hitting you up last minute and you're always saying no, but he never gets it. Often once you turn a guy down for last minute plans, he counter offers with "Ok, then how about next Tuesday?"
If he gets annoyed at you saying no to last minute plans, and does nothing to change his behavior, then he's a moron.
I agree with AG tho. it's ANNOYING. What do you think about men who lie about their age? I have noticed men have been lying about their age to get younger women.
I usually don't go out with guys who lie about their age after I find out. In my book, it falls under, I'm not lying about my age even though I know I could get away with it. And, if a guy is lying about his age, what else is he lying about? Marital status, baby mommas, kids, and more?
yup men totally lie about their age. as a matter of fact i went out with a guy whose profile said 30s and he said he was 45 or 48. I'm like um... AG: what do you think about guys who email you online, and you respond, and then no response?? This happened to me like 4 times over the weekend. What gives?!
Hi Anon, wow 48 trying to pass as 30s. Don't they own mirrors? Hahah.
The guys who email me and disappear...this has happened to me in the past and when it happens I look at it as, well, he just wasn't into me enough, next! Maybe he was just sending out a bunch of emails to see if he'd get responses, maybe he actually has a girlfriend or is married, etc. Who knows. Bottom line, not interested enough, which is fine because we want guys who are very into us

Very good point! Unfortunately, I've gotten a ton of the morons. One guy just texted me 20 min ago to meet tonight. I already have plans

ReplyDeleteThanks, Anon. Yeah, it is super annoying.

Also, do guys even NEED to lie about their ages? I could see why women do it...
DeleteLOL! I've met one guy from online who lied about his age, well one that I know of
