Fascinating

I find it quite fascinating when women react so negatively to what I say.  Why?  Because 1) I'm not telling them how to behave or what to believe and 2) they probably don't know the guys I interact with in the real world.  So, why the "passionate" responses?

Well, I read this psychology article a while back about people getting very worked up when things they don't like about themselves appear in others.  For example, let's say you forget stuff all the time and you go crazy on your friend every time he/she forgets something.  It would indicate that you really hate the part of yourself that forgets stuff all the time.

If we flip that to the very angry women who write in...

  1. Oh well. Don't let them bother you. They're only seeing one part of your life. So they think you're picky? You know what they call non-picky people? Divorced! Haha. Good luck in your city search.

    1. Lol, thanks, Anon! Seriously, nothing wrong with being picky :)

  2. Because you sound extremely cold and snobby when you write about dates. You complain more than you praise. Maybe the guys you meet do end up being jerks, but they can't ALL be terrible, can they?

    1. Unfortunately, they aren't all jerks, but they are all terrible

  3. I completely agree that in many cases, people get angry when they see what they deem as negative qualities in themselves reflected through others. It's happened with me before. It can sometimes be difficult when someone holds a mirror to you and you don't like what you see.

But for me and this blog, it's not the case. What frustrates me is that you seem to reject anything good/positive in the dating scene and these guys and react very childishly to your situations. For example, the way you dealt with Smart Guy. Ignoring him instead of just setting him straight. It's as though you purposely left that door slightly ajar to either screw with him or continue to get his attention for some weird reason.

And the way you just blast SF and the guys (and girls) in it. You come across as very negative and judgmental, which may not truly be the case. But for those of us who only know you through this blog.... wow. Bitch on wheels.

    1. Wait, what good/positive things have I seen in the dating scene?

Smart Guy didn't deserve any response from me because I decided he wasn't worth my time anymore. I was fed up with his behavior; he had this habit of being really rude (in his words "honest"), whiny, and condescending. If he had hope, even though I hadn't responded to him in years, that's his problem (for being dense)

    2. True, though maybe if you had told him to back off a while back, it would have saved you lots of time and griping!

And yeah, I guess by reading this blog it would appear the dating scene here is nothing but awful. But you DID have some good experiences - you just weren't into them.

    3. With him, pretty sure he would have tried to convince me that I'm wrong for never wanting to speak to him again had I responded (he really enjoyed "debating")

True, I have had some good dating experiences, unfortunately, I can count them on one hand
