When You Aren't Looking

So many people talk about finding someone when you aren't looking.  I don't think I've really been actively looking, but it has definitely been spinning around in the back of my mind.  I think I've come to terms with, if I don't find someone, fine, so be it.  Of course, I still believe finding someone is possible, but it has really set in that I'll be more than fine if I don't.

Also, what's with the big rush?  Any guy who believes girls have a "shelf life" should be taken out and shot.  I am on the fence about kids, so that really isn't a factor.  So, who's to say I won't find the right guy much later in life?

  1. It's so true! When you try so hard to force it, or find it, it just turns out wrong, but when you lay back, relax, and just let the right guy show up, it's amazing. I had sworn off dating and not 3 weeks later, did I meet my now husband. I mean, it's crazy how things happen! I learned to love myself first, even looked for some psychics in Sydney, and talked to counselors, and read every self help book there was. But when it comes down to it, you've just got to love yourself first and then, you'll find a great guy to love you too!

  2. Hey AG, I am just looking around on this blog for the first time today and love it! You have an outlook that seems very similar to my own.
I'd add that I totally agree with this post. I had a similar situation where I was NOT looking for a husband and ended up meeting, befriending and completely unexpectedly falling in love with one of my grad school classmates who is now my husband. I feel really lucky that it "happened" for me in this way, but I am a huge proponent of the idea that loving yourself will attract positive people to you.
