The Coffee Date I Kept

The coffee date wasn't much better than watching paint dry.  He was nice enough, and not at all talkative; there was a lot of silence.  He'd ask me a question, I'd reply, ask him a question, and get a three word answer.  I get it, maybe he just wasn't into me, fine.  So why not end the date and why so surprised when I ended the date?

  1. I hate these kinds of dates - it's awkward and a waste of time. I think maybe it's a pride thing (with ending a date) - the guy wants to drag it out to say "I've completed the challenge" and not admit defeat, and therefore is surprised when you 'rob' him of this stupid challenge, because you're realistic and know that it is not going well?

  2. Dating random guys from online is such a waste. I hate it, but it's so hard to meet someone in the real world as well.

    1. It'd be nice if we made first dates from online 30 minutes, max. I might try that!

    2. I keep dates to one drink max, even if I like the guy, I get out of there. No meals. And if it's clearly not going anywhere, I politely end it. Such a pain.

    3. If it's not going well, do you have a time limit? I struggle with how much time before ending it

    4. To the end of when we're done consuming the beverage, which hopefully is less than 30-40 min.

    5. Lol, I wouldn't be above downing it just to get out in 15 min

  3. Don't you hate when you see the guy and you know right away you don't like the guy yet you are stuck talking to him

    1. It's awful! I'm thinking of cutting those dates short by slamming a drink within 15 minutes
