Went to a Giants game over the weekend. Met a very cute girl who was telling me about how hard dating is for women in SF, no kidding. She also told me about her 10+ girlfriends who have been here for 10+ years who have done everything to try to meet their husbands, but have failed miserably. Great.
Also met another girl who told me about how she lived in SF for two years, didn't meet anyone, and moved to LA. She told me LA is much better for dating. Great.
It's nice to know that there are others out there like me. I am a single professional woman who has my act together. I have been dating in this city for years and haven't found anything. I really don't understand SF. I have come to the conclusion that I will be single in SF..forever. =/
ReplyDeleteHi Anon! Totally with you, sigh, sorry. How long have you been living here? I've been here for 6 years and am about to throw in the towel and move
DeleteI still don't think a new city is a magic formula, but this is definitely a tough place. I don't think LA would be a good fit for me personally, but I can see the appeal - weather, etc.
ReplyDeleteI feel like SF is the toughest city and any other city would be a vast improvement, am I totally off? I am with you, don't think I can do LA
DeleteIf you're only judging by dating, perhaps. I think smaller cities would be harder, esp ones where there's a culture of getting married young and everyone is a local.
DeleteOnline dating is the worst. I'm not sure if you have experienced this, but lately men have been asking me out for drinks, and when I respond and say sure, I never hear from there. What the frick?
ReplyDeleteHappens all.the.effing.time. And usually after we've exchanged at least 3 or 4 messages. Meanwhile, my single male friends complain that they NEVER receive messages or responses. What gives?
DeleteYup, I get those guys too. I also get the guys who respond to my "Sure" 3-4 weeks later. I don't respond when that happens because I don't like flakes/guys who aren't very interested.
DeleteI am curious about your male friends, Sabrina. Guessing they've disappeared on girls before, did they ever mention their reasons?
Aww, come one. This happens with both genders. Do you know how many women have disappeared on me after a conversation has been started? Or how many fake numbers I've been given? I've pretty much given up on asking a woman out in public.
DeleteGranted, I've done my share of disappearing after a date or two. It's always either because I wasn't attracted to them or wasn't meshing with them. But if they would text or call I would always respond.
